Before you start
The BXP-100 are supported:
- BXP-100 (Android 10)
- BXP-100 (Android 12)
Minimum PADS4 Server Version
During installation, you'll need to configure the location of your PADS4 Server. For a smoother setup, we recommend installing the PADS4 Server before configuring your Qbic player.
The Qbic BXP-100 requires a minimum PADS4 Server version of PADS4 2023.1. Make sure your PADS4 Server meets this requirement before proceeding.
Minimum Firmware version
The BXP-100 player you're installing PADS4 on must be running firmware 1.0.4 (Android 10) or 2.12 (Android 12) or later.

Configuring the BXP-100
Installing PADS4 Viewer via USB Stick
This method allows you to install the PADS4 Viewer application on your Qbic device using a USB flash drive.
Downloading the PADS4Qbic.apk:

Access the PADS4 Apps: Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the following URL, replacing
[YourPADS4Server]
with the actual address of your PADS4 Server:https://[YourPADS4Server]/PADS4/apps

Download the Application: Locate the file named "PADS4Qbic.apk" and download it to your computer.
Alternatively:
- You can also download the latest version of the application from the PADS4 App server [here].
Transferring the File to the Qbic Device:

Copy the APK File: Copy the downloaded "PADS4Qbic.apk" file to a USB flash drive.

Connect the USB Drive: Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Qbic BXP-100 device.
Preparing the Qbic Device:

Power on the Device: Ensure your Qbic device is powered on.

Enabling Native Android Mode:
- On the Qbic startup screen, navigate to the "Settings" menu.
- Within Settings, select "Player settings".
- Under the "Android System" section, locate the option for "Switch to native Android mode" and enable it.

Exiting Settings: Close the Settings application. You should now see the standard Android home screen.
Installing the PADS4 Viewer App

Access the Files Application: On your Qbic device in native Android mode, locate and open the "Files" application (or a similar file manager app).

Locate the PADS4Qbic.apk:
- In the Files application, browse to the storage location for your USB flash drive. It might be labeled "USB storage" or similar.
- Once you've located the USB storage, navigate to the folder where you copied the "PADS4Qbic.apk" file.

Initiate the Installation:
- Tap on the "PADS4Qbic.apk" file to begin the installation process.

Handle Unknown App Warning (Optional):
- You might encounter a security warning informing you that you're installing an application from an unknown source. This is a normal notification for sideloaded apps.
- If you see this warning, tap "Continue" to proceed with the installation. You trust the source (the PADS4 Apps Portal) and the PADS4 Viewer application.

Confirm Installation:
- A confirmation window will appear detailing the app permissions. Review the permissions if desired, then tap "INSTALL" to confirm the installation.

Complete Installation:
- Once the installation is complete, you'll see a "DONE" button. Tap "DONE" to exit the installer.

Disabling Native Android Mode:
- Within Settings, select "Player settings".
- Under the "Android System" section, locate the option for "Switch to native Android mode" and disnable it.

Exiting Settings: Close the Settings application. You should now see the Qbic Configuration screen.
Configuring the BXP-100
This section guides you through configuring your Qbic device to automatically launch the PADS4 Viewer application upon startup, regardless of whether you installed it using a USB flash drive or bulk deployment.
Content URL Setting (Applicable to USB Installation Only):
- If you installed PADS4 Viewer via USB: You might have already set the content URL during installation. If not, locate the field for "Content URL". Enter com.pads4.viewer.qbic/.MainActivity" in this field.
Accessing Settings (Method-Specific):
- USB Installation: Navigate to the "Settings" menu on your Qbic device.
- Bulk Deployment: Within the PADS4 Viewer app itself, click on "Systems Settings".
Configuring Browser View and Screen Settings (Both Methods):

Once you've accessed Settings locate the section "Player settings".

Within this section, adjust the following settings:

Browser View:
- Request Desktop site: On
- Show security warnings: Off
- Block Pop-ups: On
- Keep cookies: Off

Screen:
- Full screen: On
- Adjust window for a shown input method: On

Exiting Settings (Both Methods):
- Close the Settings application. You should return to the Qbic home screen.
- The PADS4 Viewer will start after 20 seconds.
Connecting to the PADS4 Server

Specify Server Location: Within the PADS4 Viewer app, locate the designated field for the server address. Enter the full URL of your PADS4 Server, replacing
[YourPADS4Server]
with the actual address. For example:https://[YourPADS4Server]/PADS4/

Optional: Set Viewer Name: You can optionally specify a name for your device in the PADS4 Viewer app. If left blank, the PADS4 server will automatically generate a name.

Initiate Connection: Click the "Start" button in the PADS4 Viewer app to establish the connection with your PADS4 Server.

Grant Permissions (if prompted): During connection setup, the PADS4 Viewer may request certain permissions. Grant these permissions by clicking "Allow" or "While using the app" as necessary.

PADS4 Splash Screen: You'll shortly see the PADS4 splash screen appear.
Congratulations! You've successfully installed the PADS4 Viewer application.
