PADS4 is compatible with the following ProDVX APPC-10SLBe series running Android 11
The minimum PADS4 version is 2024.1.
Before you start
Have your PADS4 server installed and configured
During the installation, you will need to configure the PADS4 Server location. It is recommended to complete the PADS4 Server installation before proceeding with the device installation.
Resetting the device
To optimize your device for PADS4, we recommend a factory reset. A factory reset erases all data, freeing up storage and ensuring no software conflicts.
To perform a factory reset:
- Access device settings: Open the Android settings menu.
- Locate reset options: Go to "System" and then "Reset options".
- Initiate reset: Select "Erase all data (factory reset)".
- Confirm action: Click "ERASE ALL DATA" twice to confirm.
Important: Backing up your data is crucial before proceeding, as this process will delete everything on your device.

Before installing PADS4, please complete the device's Welcome wizard.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Connect the device to power by plugging in the PoE cable.
- Start the Welcome wizard by clicking the "START" button on the "Hi there" screen.
- Wait for the device to initialize.
- Decline to copy apps and data by selecting "Don't copy" on the relevant screen.
- Skip the Google sign-in by choosing "Skip" on the corresponding screen.
- Bypass account setup by selecting "Skip" on the pop-up window.
- Accept Google services by scrolling down to the bottom and clicking "Accept".
- Decline to set a screen lock by choosing "Skip" on the "Set screen lock" screen.
- Confirm your choice by selecting "Skip anyway" on the subsequent pop-up.
Verify ProDVX API Installation
PADS4 requires the ProDVX API for ProDVX APPC devices. This API may already be installed.
To check if the ProDVX API is running:
- Look for the PA icon: Check the top of your Android screen for a small "PA" icon.
- Expand notifications: If you don't see the icon, pull down the notification bar to see if a notification says "ProDVX API (EdLA) is running".
If the ProDVX API is missing, please download and install it from [here] before proceeding with the PADS4 Viewer installation.
ProDVX API Token
The ProDVX API uses a token for security. PADS4 already has a default token set up. Usually, you won't need to change this.
If you have a custom token:
- Find the token file: Go to "C:\Program Files\PADS4\Foundation\Apps" on your PADS4 server.
- Open the token file: Find the file called "prodvx-api-token.txt".
- Replace the token: Change the text in the file with your custom token.
- Save the changes: Save the file.
